Lancaster, PA drivers: the all-new 2026 Subaru Outback has arrived. While the 2025 model was a rugged favorite, the 2026 version redefines the Outback as a more capable midsize SUV. At Lancaster County Motors Subaru, we’re excited to show you what’s new below.
Notable Upgrades
East Petersburg and Elizabethtown, PA drivers will notice the bold new exterior styling of the 2026 Outback. The vehicle is an inch longer (192.3 inches) and more than an inch wider (75.8 inches), with a boxier silhouette and upright stance. New stacked LED headlight clusters, a larger rectangular grille, and sculpted wheel arches give it a tougher, more SUV-like presence.
Inside, the cabin is completely reworked. A new 12.1‑inch infotainment touchscreen (up from 11.6 inches) sits next to a 12.3‑inch digital instrument cluster, both powered by faster processors and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Physical knobs and buttons return for HVAC controls—a pushback against over-reliance on touchscreens.
Lebanon, PA drivers will appreciate the quieter and roomie interior: improved aerodynamics and added insulation cut wind noise by around 10 percent, and increased roof height delivers more headroom and cargo flexibility (now up to 34.3 cubic feet behind the rear seats).
The 2026 Outback retains its engines: a 2.5‑liter naturally aspirated engine making 180 horsepower and an optional turbocharged 2.4‑liter unit making 260 horsepower. Both options are connected to Subaru’s Lineartronic continuously variable transmission and standard Symmetrical All‑Wheel Drive.
Safety tech gets a boost, too. EyeSight now includes twin cameras plus radar sensors, wider detection angles, and new Emergency Stop Assist with safe lane selection for semi-autonomous highway driving up to 85 miles per hour.
